Blog 6: Team Progress

November 20, 2024:

Marketing and Communication Updates: This week, the marketing and communications team maintained consistent engagement with our audience by releasing two Instagram posts and two Facebook posts. These efforts have helped sustain our project's visibility and connect with our community. In the coming week, they aim to release two more Instagram and Facebook posts, keep the blogs on our website regularly updated, and roll out more 1-2 minute video interviews. 

Media Creation Progress: The media creation team has been focused on developing the project’s promotional video. Although we faced challenges due to limited support from a group member, the team remains committed and is making strides despite being stretched thin. Mariam has been proactive in keeping the group updated, sharing an early version of the video to gather feedback, and iterating on the script for further refinement. The goal is to complete the project commercial by November 27th, incorporating game footage and adding music for a dramatic touch. The team has shown resilience and adaptability by working on alternative ideas and maintaining open communication.

Programming and Technical Updates: The programming team has been progressing well, with Ruidong adding new features to the game environment, including buildings and stages. Currently, six out of ten stages are in development, with elements inspired by Stratford’s architectural landscape to align with the project’s theme. The team has shared assets, such as building PNGs, with media and marketing to enhance cross-team collaboration.

Challenges and Solutions: A notable challenge this week has been the lack of contribution from a team member, which has impacted the media creation timeline. However, through clear communication and support within the team, we have managed to stay on track. Collaborative updates and shared resources continue to be key in overcoming these hurdles.

Overall, despite the challenges, our team is making significant progress and working diligently toward finalizing the project with high quality and consistency.
